"Midsummer is primarily a Celtic fire festival traditionally celebrated on the 23rd or 24th of June. It marks the change from the light half of the year to the dark half of the year, although the longest day of the year actually falls on the 21st of June. The importance of the day to our ancestors can be traced back many thousands of years. Many stone circles and other ancient monuments are aligned to the sunrise on Midsummer's Day.
Midsummer is the time when everything is abundant and flourishing. Flowers smell their sweetest, colours are their most vibrant, trees are their greenest, berries are their sweetest, and fairies are their most playful. It is a time when nature's lavishness has reached a pinnacle point. It is said that on Midsummer’s Eve during a full moon a mortal may witness fairy dances and celebrations."
Midsummer's Eve is 8” x 6 “ (20 x 16 cm) in size and comes with a standard 10" x 8" mount. It is ready to frame in a standard 10" x 8" frame.
The above story is included with Midsummer's Eve and both will be packaged carefully to ensure that they arrive safely to you.
