This coat is in excellent condition and is a testiment to the quality tailoring from the turn of the 20th century. The craftsmanship is outstanding and it shows. This wasn't a mass produced piece nor was it a theatrical costume piece.
It is made of extremely heavy weight wool material with a luxurious black velvet collar. It is lined with a checked woven material and black satin. In total the coat weighs a whopping 7 pounds!
It is in excellent condition. It is clean and lacks odor. All buttons are present and there are no holes, rips, stains, or tears in the external wool. The only flaw I can find is a small hole in the interior checked material (see 5th photo).
There are no labels or union tags present.
This is a very rare coat to find, especially in such good condition: perfect for the collector or anyone who wants to stay warm and stylish.
