ABOUT: Wandering around the rocks at Cape Elizabeth should be on every New Englander's bucket list. The slabs of stone are massive and the views of the sea and back to the historic lighthouse are breathtaking. This painting was inspired by a late afternoon visit. The sun, ready to set, cast shadows over the rocks a made the ocean shimmer. Most of this little painting was painted wet oil paint into wet oil paint. The strokes I made are evident and there is a build up of paint on parts of the surface of the canvas, a light "impasto".
This UNIQUE, OOAK (one of a kind) painting will make a wonderful gift for that "hard-to-buy-for person" in your life. It may also be THE PERFECT SOUVENIR of a wonderful vacation.
PRESENTATION: *This painting is not framed but is ready to hang! Simply hang it by it's stretcher bar using two finishing nails on you wall spaced one inch apart horizontally. The low prifile sides are painted in a coordinating light blue, no staples showing, it is a low profile (one inch) neatly wrapped edge (gallery wrap). YOU MAY REQUEST, at no additional charge, that the edges (sides) be painted in white, black, or grey.
