Made by the predictably great Suzy Perette label, this dress is 1950s in vintage, and spectacular in style! The dress is a simple princess-seamed creation in red cotton velvet. What sets it apart is the neckline, which has wide loops, stiffly interfaced to hold their dramatic shapes. These come together at a center front knot. The dress has 3/4-length sleeves and a long back covered metal zipper. The dress has no waist seam, and the skirt is gently flaring.
Condition: Just dry cleaned, I'd call the dress' condition just slightly shy of absolutely excellent. The loops are not perfectly smooth in their contours as you can see, and I'm not entirely sure how they looked to start. There is one tiny spot on the lower side front of the skirt (last square, upper right).
Size: Labeled vintage size 14, I would call the modern US size 8
Bust-38.5"
Waist-28"
Hip-48"
Top of shoulder to waist (approx. since there is no waist seam)-15"
Top of shoulder to hem-44"
Shoulder to shoulder-17"
Please note: I measure the dimension of the item itself, and you will need to consider what size you would want the item to be to fit well on you.
