You can see from the third photograph that there are three components to this little sculpture. The main part of the nest has been made out of old copper wire, which was hanging down from some disused telephone poles, collected by my brother when we were kids. This copper wire is starting to oxidise - that's the greenish/aqua powder you can see forming along the strands of wire in some of the photographs. You can leave this to fully oxidise (go green), or brush it off periodically to your liking.
The brighter coppery-coloured wire that I've used to make the 'pad' that the eggs sit on came from a big spool that I bought at a flea market. I don't know what type of metal it is, but I've had it for years and it's never tarnished. It's not connected to the main nest so you can pull it apart to dust it if you need to.
The three eggs are cast in white Gedeo Resin Plaster, using a mould I made from some quail's eggs. They are just plain unfinished plaster - there is no coating or paint on them. They have a little texturing from the original quail's eggs that the mould picked up, but are smooth to touch.
Size - the nest has a diameter of 10-11cm (about 4 - 4.25in) depending on where you measure it, and stands approximately 6cm (2.35in) at the highest point. Please note - it is irregularly shaped. The complete nest weighs about 250 grams, or about 0.55 pounds.
I ship my work all over the world. If your exact location isn't listed below and shipping should be cheaper than the 'Everywhere Else' cost, let me know and I'll edit the listing to suit.
