The mask is possibly made of solid brass. It is heavy. It is 2.5 inches long and on a woven cord. There are no markings on it. A very nice person provided me with his research on this piece and the following is a summary of what he was told by another very nice woman: These masks are images of the Ashanti tribal masks worn in ceremonies. A mold is created from beeswax repeatedly dipped in a solution of ash and water and allowed to harden. It is then heated in the kiln. As the wax melts, molten brass or gold is poured into the mold to form the mask, allowed to cool then broken open and cleaned.
I do not clean my pieces as some people prefer the aged look. I combine shipping on multiple purchases which will hopefully save you on the shipping charges. Any refund due will be sent through Paypal the day the items have shipped. I require insurance on all single purchases over $12.00. The cost of the insurance is included in the shipping fee.
