The flower pendant is a collaborative effort between the mother/daughter team of Evie and Beth. Beth (daughter) taught Evie (mother) how to saw and enamel. Both Evie and Beth took a lampworking class and have been making jewelry with their own lampwork glass beads and enameled copper pendants ever since.
The flower pendant was part of a project Beth and Evie worked on for the Art Bead Scene monthly challenge. The pendant was based on the flowers in the wallpaper design by William Morris. If you wish to learn more about the project please go to:http://www.ebbeadandmetalworks.blogspot.com/2012/01/january-abs-challenge-piece-tra-la-la.html
The flower pendant was hand-sawed by Evie from a 20 gauge piece of copper with a jeweler's saw. The pendant was then enameled by Beth. Beth loves to play with the powdered enamels to see what kind of colors can be created. Beth likes to apply multiple layers of enamels to give the pendant its rich colors.
The enameled powders used were transparent oranges and yellows.
The pendant dimensions are:
Width - 2.5"
Length - 1 3/4"
Suggested uses: suncatcher (use suction cup), rear view mirror, ceiling fan dangle, component for wind chime, purse jewelry, bow accent on gift box, keyring dangle, jewelry component, or add a ribbon for a bookmark, etc.
This piece is a one-of-a-kind treasure and a great gift for yourself or someone special. The glass enamel may crack or break if handled roughly or dropped.W
