The Dr. travels through time and space in his TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space). But let's face it, if you're reading this, you know already about Dr Who, the longest running British Sci-fi TV show.
The TARDIS is bigger on the inside, just like this purse when you open it. I've painted two sides of the TARDIS (front and back) so when you open the purse you have the sense of it being a Police box, flying through space. If you hold the bag right, the clasp becomes the light on top of the TARDIS. Because the Dr. loves his TARDIS, I painted, "Hello Sexy" on the inside. Consider it a pep talk every time you use it.
This TARDIS is hand-painted by me (that's five years at art school working for ya) with professional-quality acrylic paint, and sealed with UV-protective gloss coating. I wanted to take nice purses and make them even more special by painting them.
The bag is black leather. It is vintage, made by Etra in the 1960's. Inside, it has a textured "taffeta" orangey/yellow lining. The gold-tone frame is where this purse really shows how cool it is. It's hinged in the middle of the purse so it opens in a diamond shape. You have the option of using it as a purse with the chain (which folds inside) or as a clutch.
This bag is in good Vintage Condition. There are no cracks or rips on the leather. There is a little patina/age on the metal frame and the inside is somewhat soiled, nothing icky. The clasp works, but doesn't sit as flat as it should, something common to these Etra purses.
