This bag is wet-felted of Bluefaced Leicester locks on Alpaca roving. It features a beautiful pendant focal of Pegasus made by Birgitta Lejonklou of Angel Whisperer, and two cords of braided nettle yarn with silver beads. Along the top of the front there is a row of tin beads. The back is of heavily fulled, repurposed woollen sweater which has a line of turquoise and black braided waxed cord which picks up the subtle color from the pendant on the front. The fringes are of four-strand braided handspun yarn with silver beads at the ends. The long waxed cord has a felt bead of Black Welsh Mountain wool.
I am a fiber artist and this bag was conceived as a small work of art. It is 7" wide at its widest point and 6" high. I am quite pleased to have successfully combined felted and knitted componants in this day and age of having to recycle. This bag would go well around the neck and is big enough to carry a number of small essentials, like a cell phone or iPod, makeup, etc. It would also look smashing on a wall to hold small utensils or sacred objects.
