This is a 3 9/16" tall woodburned Saint Patrick peg doll. It is treated with all-natural wood conditioner made by another Etsy seller which is made from all natural ingredients which are natural unbleached pure beeswax, expellar pressed jojoba oil and sweet orange essential oil. Certian parts of the doll are colored with lightfast ink.
I depicted him holding a shamrock and dressed him as a bishop holding a Bishop's crook. The little girl holding the Immaculate Heart peg doll is about three years old and the last photo shows a painted St. Patrick doll I can make for you.
It was through the shamrock that St. Patrick explained the reality of the Trinity ~ three Persons in one God.
St. Patrick was born in Scotland of Roman parents in 387. His parents were in charge of the Roman colonies. He was kidnapped when a teenager and brought to Ireland as a slave. Luckily he escaped a few years later. Upon being ordained bishop, later in life, he decided to go back to Ireland to convert the people. He had already learned their language and ways from his captivity. He converted many and built churches across the countryside to minister to the spiritual needs of the people there. He died in 461.
