Banana silk yarn is made from fibres from the banana plant. The fibres are soaked to make a pulp which is then extruded into fibres that are spun to make the yarn. It can be used to make bags, pouches, hats, scarves or shawls. It is slightly softer than recycled sari silk yarn and has the sheen and lustre of silk, so it is a great substitute for silk. The yardage is similar to the recycled sari silk yarn, around 80-90 yards for every 90-100 gm skein.
This listing is for the softer version of Banana fiber yarn. If you like a slightly more textured banana fiber yarn please check my Banana Fiber Yarn, ART here.
Each skein of the multicolored yarn is unique, but if you order more than one I will make sure to pick skeins closest in color. I also have these in 5 lovely solid colored shades as well.
