A gorgeous One of a Kind Brooch. A delicate dandelion seed head done in pale yellow and deep charcoal grey enamel is set in a chunky modern setting.
This series was loosely based a 1950's bark cloth fabric. They sort of have that atomic feel, don't they?
The enamel is powdered glass that is applied to the metal and then fired in the kiln to 1500 degrees so that it is fused together. Many layers of enamel were placed and fired to achieve this look. The dandelion seed head was hand drawn by me and is also enamel. It is not a surface drawing that will come off.
The dandelion was then tab set in a handmade sterling silver setting. A thick square stem sets off the piece and is bent gently to suggest that it is blowing in the wind.
This one is a pale yellow, it is one of 4 in a series of brooches. I also have 4 necklaces in this series. The other colors are a pale green, beige, and pale blue. Contact me if interested.
I have necklaces in this series- you can see them by clicking on these links-
