This is a piece from my series of Quote Blocks. Some of my favorite quotes turned into original collages on top of vintage playing cards. The collages are mounted on to pieces of scrap wood complete with peeling paint and old nails. The collage is sealed with a coating of natural beeswax to protect and create a warm vintage patina.
As with all my work, my medium is found objects, recycled junk, and cultural detritus.
I am drawn to objects with a sense of the past.
