Lamps suitable for this lampshade are lamps that include a metal harp that surrounds light bulb socket and the finial, the topper that screws on securing the lampshade. The lampshade comes attached to metal hardware, the spider ring, so that is can be easily attached to your lamp. Please see picture 5 for reference.
We take great pride in all parts of our work including creative design and functionality. We realize that lampshades are unique in that they involve the aspect of heat generated by a light bulb.
Our lampshades are rigorously tested with the light on for up to 12 hours to check for heat distribution and ventilation and we have not found any issues. Our open top design allows heat to radiate away from the lamp allowing the shade itself to remain cool.
While we test the lamps with both incandescent and florescent bulbs, we recommend the use of florescent or LED bulbs as they create less heat for the amount of light produced and are far more energy efficient. : ) Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
