RESERVED for Scott Warren
Beautifully hand carved and gilded console table, probably in Italian, maybe French. Not perfect, but an absolute classic.
About 52" wide, 20" deep and 37-1/2" high.
It probably had a marble top originally. Now it has an inset glass top that is reverse painted to look like marble, and that painting is chipping and peeling.
A carved swag of roses decorates the underside of the top, and out of six original swags, four are still there. I'm sure the others are gone from being grabbed to lift the table in some far decade past. Some have obviously re-glued and repaired.
The stretcher, at the bottom between the legs, has been repaired many times, spray painted gold (not gilded), and after my fat cat jumped on it a few times, is in 4 pieces. Needs to be repaired.
I have no idea how old this is, and the estate daughter didn't either. It could be from the 1800s, or the 1920s. But it had been in her mom's house as long as she had been alive, and she was born in the late 1940s.
The design and rich gold gilding would work well with Hollywood Regency decor.
Now, the very good news is the price. I've seen these online for 1000s of dollars. So have you. If you've ever wanted one, this is going to be a good opportunity for it. I've taken the condition and the shipping hit into consideration.
This will ship via Greyhound to the bus station nearest the buyer that accepts freight, not all do, for about $175. Convo me if you want to make your own arrangements with a freight company before you buy this, thanks.
