This ribbon is made from hand cut strips of sari silk fabric which have been sewn (and occasionally tied) end-to-end. The fabrics found in this yarn are generally silks, but may also include cotton, rayon, and metal threads. Some of the ribbons may have frayed edges, seams, or tears (they are reclaimed waste ribbon from the sari weaving process). I obtained this silk from a Fair Trade source that utilizes skilled workers (particularly village women) and is 100% free of child labor.
