I love this form!
I've been making these for years(pre-Etsy) and they are still so popular!
Many of them I don't have around long enough to list on Etsy...
The smaller is wonderful for shrimp and cocktail sauce, candy and nuts...
Great for chips and dips, hummus and pita, fruit and dip...etc
BUT I have customers with similar pieces that they display even when not in use.
This is my new approach with the exposure of the clay...
This piece is wheel thrown in two parts, assembled, altered and carved.
The glaze is found in the interior of the dip bowl portion as well as a good part of the exterior bowl.
The juxtaposition of the sheen from the glaze and the raw exposed clay and the echoing of the shape of the form creates an organ, tey modern, useful serving piece!y
It is fired to 2185 degrees in an electric kiln.
The widest outer diameter is about 8".
The highest point is about 2 5/8"
Enjoy.
It makes a wonderful gift!
As with all of my work, there is no slip-casting or molds involved.
Each piece is handmade and therefore "one of a kind".
Even if duplicates are made, they are never EXACTLY alike,
as that would be impossible!
It is microwave and food safe.
Dish washing is fine too, but to be safe, you may choose to hand wash...
