Many years ago, one could collect sea treasures on Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, California. Some of my favorite gleanings are sea sanded pieces of metal. The metal strips used in the Beachcomber's Amulet Necklace were found as is, over twenty years ago, with small bits of colored sea glass trapped in the metal structure. The chain of beads holding the amulet measures approximately 18" and closes with a hand forged hook. Other elements in this necklace include bone dice, rusted and weathered iron, a portion of an old zipper pull, and beads of wood, bone, wire and glass. The main portion of the amulet hangs 4 1/2" from the top of the curved iron piece.
The materials in my jewelry pieces are in their used, rustic, weathered, unpolished vintage and antique states. Please look carefully at the pictures. The metals are often mixed and intentionally do not match.
