An absolutely drop dead gorgeous strapless 1950’s prom dress in a romantic confection of mouthwatering baby pink tulle, lace and ribbon. The perfect dress with which to turn heads at the approaching prom season ! The pastel shade is soft and muted and the ribbon decoration is simply stunning. No maker’s label remains but this dress appears professionally made. No fabric contents label but this is likely a synthetic blend.
Note the special details on this amazing dress – strapless (boned) lace wrapped bodice with tufted tulle at the bustline, and the very full tulle skirt with alternating layers of soutache ribbon and lace trim decoration. There are three layers to this skirt – a matching baby pink satin acetate lining, a middle single layer of baby pink tulle to give the skirt additional volume, topped by a final layer of the same pink tulle. Note the lace ribbon trim on the tulle is applied – not printed – with a two dimensional texture.
This dress closes down the side with a hidden metal zipper and fastener. The entire dress is lined in baby pink satin acetate. The dress is photographed using a crinoline to show the skirt to full advantage – the crinoline is not included.
No vintage size label so please see measurements below for a proper fit. This is a small size that would likely best fit a modern size 2 or 4.
