This sweet vintage stacking teapot and teacup is redware ceramic from Japan with hand painted roses on the over glaze. The tea set has three pieces--pot, cup, and a lid that fits both. The lid has a hole to let out steam and a little bump on it to keep it from falling off during pouring. This dates to the late 1940s, when it was given to a little boy to keep him amused while he was sick. It's perfect for one cup of tea, or adds a sweet touch to your shabby chic decor.
The tea set is in very good condition. There are a few small chips on the base of the teapot, not visible except from the bottom, but the rest is chip and crack free.
Size: About 4 3/4 inches tall (stacked) x 7 inches from spout to handle (12 x 17.8 cm)
