Ring will be made in a new Silver/Palladium alloy (AGPD) that contains approximately 54% silver, 25% Palladium, and 21% Copper. Its hardness falls right in between that of 14KY and 14KW golds. In addition to increased durability it provides better tarnish resistance than normal Sterling Silver. It's color is very similar to palladium (950PD) a bit greyer than sterling silver. For more info about pro's and con's of this and all the other metals I use check out my blog post: http://nodeform.blogspot.com/2012/01/precious-metal-options.html
Moissanite is a lab-created near-colorless, extremely durable jewel with brilliance and fire that outshines even diamonds. It is a popular alternative to more expensive diamonds. It has a hardness of 9.25, harder than sapphires and emeralds and only topped by diamonds. Unlike diamonds, which are carbon, Moissanites are silicon carbide (SiC), a very rare, naturally occurring mineral found primarily in meteors. Commercially available moissanites are lab created by only one firm: Charles & Colvard. In 2012 C&C came out with a whiter moissanite, the Forever Brilliant moissanite. They are more expensive than the standard moissanites. More info: http://www.charlesandcolvard.com/our-brands/product-lines/forever-brilliant-top-quality-moissanite-gemstones/
