Cloth baby wipes are the perfect item for any household, not just those who want to "go green." I love using them for hankies and washcloths, and other such uses. I have recently been joking with my friends and family that I was born in the wrong decade, as I would love to wear the clothing of the 60's. But, also, I love the non-disposable items that they used back, including baby wipes and cloth diapers. :)
My wipes are handmade by me in my smoke-free, cat friendly home. They are double layered for added durability, and have been turned and top-stitched to help prevent fraying. They have also been prewashed and hot dried to prevent shrinkage.
During your baby's first year you will likely spend over $150 on disposable baby wipes alone. Add in the cost of disposable diapers and baby food, and you're looking at around $500. Also, think of all the diapers and wipes that will wind up in landfills. Disposable diapers, wipes, and feminine products are the items future archaeologists are likely to find the most of in our landfills. I, personally, want to help decrease how many they will find, and this is the first step in the right direction.
