This talisman necklace is constructed using vintage salvage pieces that include repurposed filigree findings, a bezel made from metal and the new casting of four birds sitting on a branch. This talisman necklace has an aged rusty urban decay feel. The bird casting is a new piece that I casted in my studio for this necklace and then was given and aged patina. Dangling from the bird bezel is a cushion cut jasper stone bead with old chain and tiny metal heishi beads. The necklace part of this piece features beaded stone, metal, wood and glass beads, along with an old piece of coated wire that has cap ends.
This necklace closes with a handmade hook type clasp.
There is a heavy oxidized finish in addition to pieces that have naturally rusted and acquired patina. All elements of this necklace have been sealed with a jewelry grade wax resin mixture to seal and protect the patina.
Necklace measures 22" long from end to end and this measurement does not include the bezel focal piece. The talisman focal piece measures 4 1/4" wide and 4 1/2" long from top of bezel to bottom of the stone dangle.
