Chinoiserie Tin Box, Flower Basket motif. This lovely old tin - looks like 1930s to me- is 7" diameter and 5" high. It has a dark green background with flowers which I believe was overprinted on a gold background which shows through in places - a very pleasing color combination. The lid is a bit different from the usual, as it doesn't extend across the top of the tin. Vintage wear to the the tin in the form of missing bits of the lithographed color, and there is oxidation to note on the inside (see last photo) and loss to the gold coat around the edges of the bottom (the bottom is a sort of recessed pedestal, so the tin appears to float). I did not take a photo of the bottom, but can do so if you would like to see it. This is the prettiest tin I have come across.
