The technique used to create the pendant is called mica shift. Although the sun design looks like it has depth and texture, this pendant is actually smooth and flat. It has been sanded with 4 different grits of sandpaper to bring out the mica shift details, meticulously buffed with felt to bring out a glassy shine, then varnished for even more added sheen and protection.
Pendant measures 1 1/4 by 7/8 inches, length of necklace is 22 1/2 inches, including lobster claw clasp.
