Mare bride is made from white felt with a wool yarn mane and colorful "floral" garland necklace. Handsome stallion-groom is made from beautiful tan felt with a blue and white stripe bow tie. Both have tan corduroy hooves. Visible hand stitching serves as a charming reminder the piece is handmade!
The horses are glued down to the wooden base by the buttons attached to each of the feet, so they stay secure on top of the cake. If you'd like to separate them from the base after the wedding, just clip carefully between the buttons and the feet. I recommend tracing the base onto a piece of wax paper to use as a barrier between the base and the frosting!
