This wonderful vintage Horn train case by Rice-Stix is a lovely piece of luggage dating to the 1940s or 1950s.
"For those who go first class" was the Horn slogan, and this is a well-made little piece--sturdy enough to use but also perfect for displaying gloves or lace, storing scarves or letters, or stacking with other luggage.
The suitcase has a label in front that says Horn Pennantone, Rice-Stix, St. Louis, Mo. The case is wine red, or deep maroon, covered with a textured material with cream rubber or plastic around the edges. The hardware is brass tone metal, and inside is lined with fuschia satin, with plastic covering on the bottom.
The train case is still sturdy, with some scuffs and a few dings on the outside but no major damage. The latches are have worn finish but work very well; there is no key. The inside mirror is missing, as is one of the small feet on the bottom. The inside lining is stained, with some pinholes in the plastic, but no major damage.
Size: 13 3/4 inches wide x 9 1/4 inches deep x 8 inches tall (34.9 x 23.5 x 20.3 cm)
