They are leather soled and unlined.The inner sock is a fleecy cotton material.The seam at the front vamp is covered with matching cotton tape on the inside ; the topline is bound with a diagonal twill binding.
They are marked size 4 English and are quite narrow.
They measure externally across the sole 2-7/8ths ins (7.2cm) at the widest point.
The sole length is 4-3/4ins (12cm) measured externally.
The front vamp is 6-3/8th ins long (16cm) from tip sole to the top.
The back seam is 2-3/4ins (7cm) deep
The Louis heel is 2-1/8thins (5.5cm) high
The most difficult measurement to take is the internal sole width, because of the height of the vamp and my reluctance to overhandle them due to the feather trim shedding.My best approximation on this would be 2-5/8th ins(6.7cm) acheived by measuring a piece of tissue paper placed inside.This seems to me to be very narrow for size 4 English shoes

However I say advisedly these shoes seem quite small and narrow.
The fabric is very strong,in good condition with a degree of fading. However there is damage to both heels where the satin covering has come unstuck and black and light rust marks. These marks are not immediately obvious when worn and the heel covering where loose could be restuck. It could also be dyed black. I think the satin is rayon. The black and tourquoise ostrich feather trim is currently shedding but it is only loosely attached and could easily be replaced.
The price reflects the condition but with modifications they would be suitable to wear with your 1920s vintage flapper evening gown or display as they are in your collection.They come from a non-smoking pet free environment.
