This is a wheel-thrown stoneware goblet. The body and stem were made separately and then attached at the leather-hard stage. The stem is a hollow cylinder. The cup is glazed in Shino with an amber drizzle. I’m particularly fond of Shino, as it ranges from white to a lovely orange blush. I think the amber compliments it nicely and I like the black/brown line that separates the Shino from the amber in places. The stem is a contrasting black, with a surprise of blue inside. I reckon this would be great for mulled wine (check out Jamie Oliver’s blog for a fab mulled wine recipe).
