Recently I visited the museum at the Gemological Institute in the San Diego area. While the cut gems of every color imaginable were impressive, what I was really awestruck by were the the uncut large rock formations which contained the gems in their natural, faceted state. These rocks of various shapes looked ordinary and unimpressive from the outside, but when sliced open revealed this beautiful crystalline structure. The contrast of the rough dull surface of the outside with the sparkling jagged surface of the inside somehow makes each rock even more beautiful. This is where the inspiration for the Rock Heart pendant came from.
After having the 2 pieces of the Rock Heart pendant 3d printed, I dye them, give them a clear coat, then snap the pieces together. Because it is printed in a flexible and lightweight nylon plastic material, the pendant is lightweight but durable.
The pendant measures 1.75" tall by 1.5" wide (44.5mm x 38mm) and hangs from a 30" gunmetal chain (762mm) .
If you prefer a brass chain or a different length chain you can specify this when ordering in the box that says "Note to ArchetypeZ".
