This beautiful christening gown is from the estate of a lady born in 1876, and was probably made for her son, who was born in 1912. It is made of fine handkerchief linen, with delicate lace at the neck, sleeves, and bottom, fine tucks at the yoke, a ruffle at the bottom, and "M" embroidered at the yoke. It measures 30" around the chest, and 21" long. It has an opening down the back, but no buttons or other closures. It has been stored, rolled rather than folded, in white sheets all these years, in smoke-free homes. Please note, there are several very small brown spots, and several small holes near the bottom. I believe the spots could be removed. I have not treated them, nor washed or ironed this garment.
