Inspired by the Scottish hero of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series of books, Jamie's Oatmeal soap is an elegant yet earthy soap, like its namesake. Made with a local Ontario beer and colloidal oatmeal. A blend of patchouli, rosemary and orange essential oils provides a light, refreshing unisex scent, perfect for both men and women.
OLIVE OIL acts as a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin, and creates a protective layer, holding in moisture without clogging the skin.
COCONUT OIL creates an oily protective barrier on the skin and is great for dry,itchy skin.
CASTOR OIL acts as a humectant, drawing moisture from the air into your skin. It is easily absorbed by the skin, making it an excellent skin softener and conditioner.
COLLOIDAL OATMEAL helps soothe and comfort itchy, dry skin.
Ingredients: palm oil, coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, Steam Whistle lager, lye (sodium hydroxide), colloidal oatmeal, patchouli, rosemary and orange essential oils.
Taking care of your hand crafted soap will ensure that you can enjoy it for a longer period of time. Do not let your soap sit in a puddle of water or keep it where it will be bombarded by the shower. Keep it in a soap dish that offers drainage and air circulation. No soap dish? Find yourself a large smooth stone and keep your soap here. The stone both allows water to drain off and absorbs water, allowing your soap to dry well between uses.
*Each batch of soap is made by hand, my hand, using the traditional cold process method of soap making. I do not use any chemical preservatives. The colours of my soaps are due to the natural ingredients I have used rather than synthetic colourings. My soaps are scented only with natural essential oils. I do not add synthetic fragrance oils to my soaps.
*My handmade soaps contain no harsh detergents or sulfates and are biodegradable.
*Each bar of soap is hand cut and weighs between 130-150 grams (4.5 - 5 ounces).
