This wall hanging has been made using five of my cast plaster bird's eggs. They're hanging on a varnished casuarina/she-oak branch from my garden. This wall hanging has been assembled using fine metal jewellers cable and crimps, and it has a single loop at the top for hanging. The stick at the top of this hanging has been dried, had the bark removed, and it's been sanded and coated with water-based polyurethane.
These eggs have been cast in Gedeo Resin Plaster from a mould I made using quail's eggs. They've been undercoated, painted with varying tones of green, brown and metallic gold acrylic paint, and sealed with several coats of satin water-based varnish. They have a metal loop glued securely into a hole at the top.
If you'd like to know how I made these eggs, you can read all about it at my blog at www.kuberblog.blogspot.com.au.
Size - the entire wall hanging measures 35cm (13.75in) from the top of the hanging loop to the bottom of the lowest egg. The varnished branch is just under 27cm (10.6in) long. The eggs come in a variety of sizes because I made several moulds from different eggs. They vary in length from 3 to 4cm or just over 1 to 1.5 inches. Please note that some eggs hang from the 'round' end, and others from the 'pointy' end for variety.
This wall hanging has been assembled securely, but it's not for the garden or for children to play with. Please subject it to light breezes only, lest the strands tangle, and please don't let it get wet!
I ship my work all over the world. If your location isn't listed below and shipping should be cheaper than the 'Everywhere Else' cost, let me know and I'll edit the listing to suit.
