Celtic Cross Stained Glass Suncatcher in Purple

An Irish cross stained glass suncatcher in shades of purple. The center is a deep purple glass gem. The cross pieces are made of a beautiful thick glass with streaks and swirls of dark purple and blue. The circle is a lighter purple glass with streaks of cream. The area between the circle and the cross is open. The piece measures 6 inches (15 cm) by 5 inches (12.5 cm)and hangs from a loop soldered to the top of the cross.

A bit of history on the Irish cross (thanks to wikipedia) The popular legend is that these crosses were introduced by St Patrick when he converted the Irish. Irish monks started erecting stone crosses as early as the 7th century across Ireland.

I have always been proud of my Irish heritage, and have enjoyed working on something from that history. This suncatcher can be used at St Patrick's day, but also throughout the year for those who enjoy the celtic designs, or who want a symbol of faith.
