The J. L. Mott Iron Works was established by Jordan L. Mott in New York in the area now called Mott Haven in 1828;[1] the business was continued by his son, J.L. Mott, Jr. The elder Mott specialized in the manufacture of cooking-stoves fueled with anthracite coal. This beautiful ornate piece of architectural history measures 30" x 33" and includes the hard to find double surround framing pieces, louvers(rusted shut) and louver adjusting piece.
The door has a unique scrolling pattern and all pieces fit together as designed.
