These posable dolls are fashioned from pipecleaner skeletons wrapped in quality embroidery floss with wooden heads and yarn hair. Their highly detailed wool felt clothing and silk flower skirts are inspired by natural earth and plant colors.
Summers in Arizona can get warm even in the woods so Mom and Dad have removable coats. All the other clothing is attached to the dolls.
This family of dolls is slightly smaller than 1:12 scale dolls. The father figure stands at 4-3/4 inches tall. The mother figure is slightly over 4-1/2 inches tall with the oldest son just under 4 inches. The younger son stands at approximately 4-5/8 inches tall and the little sister is just a wee bit over 2-3/4 inches.
They fit the standard dollhouse scale furniture quite well. Completion of this project was about 20 hours - so much fun! Patterns for these doll bodies and their clothing came from the book "Felt Wee Folk: Enchanting Projects" by Salley Mavor. To make them fit the dollhouse house scale better, I simply lengthened the pipecleaner and clothing measurements.
There will be several new families, fairies and storybook characters listed in the store throughout the summer and fall. (Sorry, the summer fairy gazebo is not included in the set.)
