This 6" mini-Hickowreath was designed to replicate the nest of an elusive songbird that sings outside my window every morning. I have never caught a glimpse of the bird, but this is what I would imagine its nest to look like. I've included fluffy bits of stuffing, Spanish moss, multi-colored strands of yarn, shredded paper, and a variety of nuts. I hand painted unshelled pecans a cheery light blue to resemble a bird's eggs. Since this is a nest of a bird in my imagination, I chose to include bits of walnuts and Hickory nuts. A colorful bird nests at the bottom of the wreath as a cheery accent. The wreath hangs from a grossgrain chocolate and light blue ribbon. I hope this wreath brings a touch of the outdoors to your home and reminds you of all the feathered friends flitting about as they make their nests this Spring!
