I made this frock using red cotton knit fabric I screen printed using my original stripes design and black ink to make a plaid pattern. I gave it a great shape a deep v neck/back, gently tapered waist and flaring a bit at the hips to a ruffle hem. I made a vertical stitch from neck to hem on each side, corset-like stitches at the waist on each side and gently gathered the shoulders for added beauty and structure. The neckline and cuffs are finished and like most of my designs the hem is raw - not to worry, I use fabrics that do not fray and we like the way they gently curl over time. All of the stitching is shades of pink and red.
Either side may be worn as the front.
Great for work and play - day and evening - dressed up and down with leggings, tights, jeans or skirts and nice layered over longer sleeves in cool and cold times. Love this frock with a belt, too - see my accessories section for a variety of handmade belts.
