More than forty shoe and boot-making patterns, with infinite variations, along with directions are in this book. All the footwear is made by the stitch-down method, which is the simplest shoemaking process. In this process the bottom edge of the upper turns out upon the sole, forming a little lip around the edge of the shoe or boot. Lasts are used in this process, directions for making your own are included.
As in all of my manuals, the use of earth-friendly non-toxic cement and natural or recycled soling is recommended for making the shoes.
This book is self-published, patterns are outlined with about a million little dashes, but I believe all the information is clearly conveyed. Please let me know if you have questions during your shoemaking process.
