This hand built parrot sculpture started out as 2 small pinch pots that were joined together to create the body. After that another pinch pot was formed to make the head. Then each feather was individually handmade and attached along with other details. He was decorated with under glaze and high fire gloss glaze. The chartreuse parts of his belly and back have only been under glazed and have a matte finish. No molds were used in this piece.
You can just look at his proud expression and just know that he knows he's pretty. This piece was a lot of fun to make. It remains one of my favorite sculptures that I have created.
