While most of my fellow members took real destinations as there inspiration for this wonderfully inclusive theme that allows everyone's creativity freedom to soar, I decided to go with what I do best and rely on imagination and fairytales.
I am normally not very keen on Disney movies, but I really loved Snow White as a kid. Particularly when she is lost in the woods with the trees with the faces ,and beyond that, the mine where the dwarfs go to work and sing the " heigh ho " song. After that scene I usually spent the rest of the movie imagining I got to go this this underground cavern of twinkling shiny beauty. (Or to the creepy woods. I would have loved that too.)
Needless to say, a mine where workers sing happily without lung disease , without getting dirty, and where all the colorful gems known to humankind coexist, is all made up.
But even then, wonderful caverns do exist, and I bet there is shiny stuff down there worth discovering.
So yes, my destination, as simplistic and immature as that sounds is the 7 dwarfs' mine.
Hence the name My Mine...
The center stone is a giant vintage Cathedral color Swarovski stone. It's big. This piece has the bling factor going for it for sure.
Now, since this stone has not been in production for decades, it does have a teentsy flaw. If you look really really close, in it's center, the back foil is damaged. As if a tiny flea took tiny flea sized bites out of the foil. Really hard to notice, but it's there.
Given the nature of true vintage , and also the fact that the back of the stone is now sealed, so there will be no further damage, I think it is still highly desirable in this condition, but beware buyer, it is there. I just feel like it's best to foreclose this tiny flaw.
The rest of the bracelet is bead embroidered with lovely matte zinc metal seed beads, contribution of Bead Smith. The backing is sliver lambskin, the clasp it silver plated tube clasp, and the bracelet currently fits a wrist 6-7 inches, I will alter it gladly if needed.
Thanks for looking.
