Real Pheasant feathers cast in acrylic
This is a beautiful totally handcrafted custom ballpoint pen. It features Pheasant feathers cast in gem resin by John Underhill in collaboration with Mike Trobee Pens. The feathers in this small sized pen happened through a painstaking process where each feather has to be individually and carefully placed on the pen tube. It was then hand cast in a pure acrylic material to magnify the beauty and add durability for generations of use. John Underhill was judged in “Pen World Magazine” as “best in casting.” Every pen is a unique one of a kind pen.
I (Mike Trobee) hand turned the writing pen on a lathe, shaped it, sanded it, polished it, finished it, and waxed it. The pen parts I selected are brilliant rose gold plating along with black titanium. The ballpoint cartridge is driven by an extremely high quality “transmission” that twists to retract/unretract the ballpoint tip. Refills are “Parker” style and are available at most better office supply stores. The writing experience is very smooth with this little beauty of a pen!
