The idea behind this set was to create a roomful of pieces, cohesive in design but infinitely rearrangeable. Since there are so many moveable pieces, you may find it helpful to secure the objects with wax. Have fun--they were conceived with the idea that they could spill over from the library cabinet onto your own miniature desks and tables!
Let's start with the most important ingredient: the books! Each of the 60+ books has been lovingly and painstakingly crafted to resemble the real thing. High resolution images printed on textured paper give unsurpassed detail and dimensionality. These books were created specifically for this bookshelf, and since the most you will see of the books are their spines, my design focused on that, carefully crafting them from images of real antique books. Books do not open. There are more than enough books to fill all three shelves and several books left over to scatter across the room, or set on top of the cabinet.
No real working library can ever be too tidy so, in addition to its 60+ books, the cabinet also houses many pieces that one might expect to find near so many books:
-three unusual "mounted" and framed images (photograph of two dancers, a bird wing painted by Durer, and Fuseli's "Nightmare")
-portfolio, sealed with wax (does not open)
-antique world map
-2 rolled up "parchments"
-manuscript, bundled with weird old photograph, tied with twine
-3 antique file folders
-4 miscellaneous antique papers, with female carte de visite
With over 80 pieces, this is the largest, most comprehensive "cabinet" collection I have ever created!

My pretty packaging makes every order the perfect gift!
