An absolutely lovely strapless 1950’s party/prom dress in an enchanting confection of lemon lace and chiffon. This dress was likely originally designed as a prom gown and is certainly lovely enough to be worn at a very special occasion. No maker’s label but a vintage style tag confirms this dress was professionally made. No fabric contents label but this is likely a synthetic blend.
Note the details on this stunning dress – the strapless form fitting (boned) bodice with sweetheart neckline, the cascading alternating tiers of lemon chiffon and ivory lace and the incredibly full skirt. There are three layers to this skirt – a lemon satin acetate lining, a middle single layer of lemon tulle to give the skirt additional volume, topped with an outer layer of the same tulle, trimmed in chiffon and lace.
This dress closes down the side with a hidden vinyl zipper (replacement to original metal) and fastener. The entire dress is lined in matching lemon satin acetate. The dress is photographed using a crinoline to show the skirt to full advantage – the crinoline is not included.
No vintage size label, so please see measurements below for a proper fit. This is an extra small size that would best fit a modern size 0 or 2.
