This is a yellow bookmark with a red heart handpainted on it. The bookmark is laminated so it will last. The quote by Maya Angelou says, "LOVE recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls, to arrive at its destination full of HOPE."
The colors, red and yellow represent awareness for Hepatitis C. If you would like a bookmark in a different color, please let me know and I can do that for you! Please send me a convo if you would like more than one, and I will arrange to have everything set up for you.
Each bookmark is made to order, so slight variation is design is to be expected.
Please read below or in my profile for more information. Send me a convo if you have any questions!
Why I support the Greenview Foundation:
My mother is a huge inspiration to me, and shaped me into the crafty person I am today. She was always supportive of me, teaching me well, and making sure I grew up to be someone she could be proud of. She was diagnosed with Hepatitis C when I was a young girl, and 16 years after the diagnoses, she was diagnosed with liver cancer caused by Hep C. Only a few short months later, she passed away.
I think it's important to try and stop the Hepatitis C so that it doesn't cause things like cancer. Hep C causes so much, but by itself it's harmful too. It's also a disease that people aren't aware of enough. It's just a very quiet disease that I think more people should know about and support. The quietness of it is what makes it so dangerous. Someone could have hepatitis C for 30 years, and not show any symptoms. There is no cure for Hepatitis C. People with the disease have an 80% chance of getting a chronic disease, like liver cancer.
A little about the Greenview Foundation:
The Greenview Foundation's Hepatitis C Research Fund is a charity raising money for medical research to improve the diagnosis and treatment options of Hepatitis C patients worldwide. The foundation started in 2006 with the printing of a cookbook, Cooking Around the World, which sold about 1,300 copies. The foundation has now donated a total of $57,000 to the University of Michigan and another $5,000 to the University of Miami.
