uh, so yeah, bears! this bear drawing was born out of my scariest moment to date. couple years back, me and the newf took a hiking trip to glacier national park in montana. oh my god, who could not love montana? there are three things that i remember most. one- the griz, two- the most amazing banana cream pie EVER, and three- me crying during a snow storm and yelling "you call this vacation" it was august! so the bear... all the talk is about the grizzlies. i mean ALL the talk is about the bears. all this anticipation of when you'll see a bear or if you'll see a bear and what to do if you do see a bear and what not to do if you see a bear. one day when we least expected it, we encountered a smallish (HUGE) grizzly walking on the trails and he was only like 30' away because he had just come around a bend. bren started back tracking and yelling at me but i just froze. i wasn't sure if i was scared or just amazed to see him. i think i waited until he was about 20' away before i turned to walk in the other direction. every time we looked back he was right behind us and i started to get very nervous so bren had us walk down the hill, off the path and upwind or downwind- i forget!!! anyway, it was that moment in the field, waiting to see if he would stay on the path or follow us that was my scariest moment to date. uh, so yeah, he kept walking. we were NOT as interesting to him as he was to us!
