This handmade hoop art is a cross stitch embroidery of my BART Map design. It was hand stitched on 14 count white Aida cloth and is framed in a 5 inch (12.7 cm) wooden hoop.
I add a single layer of white felt directly behind the stitching to protect the stitches and make the un-stitched holes in the Aida cloth less noticeable. A double layer of white cotton muslin is hand-stitched to the back to help hold the Aida cloth tightly in the hoop.
