This fabulous, rare, tea cup and saucer set was made in England by the Paragon Company.. It is numbered, A1616/1. It features a beautiful mix of flowers in shades of pink, light purple, yellow and white. The flowers are on the inside of the cup and on the face of the saucer. The background of this set is the most amazing, vibrant, turquoise blue ~ truly stunning! The outside of the cup is white with accents of gold pin striping. The foot of the cup is accented with the beautiful turquoise color. Both the lip of the cup and the edges of the saucer are scalloped and brushed in gold.
The underside of the cup and saucer are stamped "Paragon ~ by appointment ~ fine bone china ~ England Regd ~ A1616/1". The double warranted backstamp and the placement of the wording would date this set to somewhere between 1952-1960.
The cup measures 4"across x 2" high. The saucer is 5 1/2" across.
The condition of this set is exceptional. It looks as if it was never used.
