(I love raw edges, frayed linen and lace.. so you will see raw edges on most of my LILY HANNAH and VINTAGE KITTY garments.. it lends itself to that gorgeous faded glory look that I love...)
this piece has been upcycled from a vintage (new old stock) stretch knit cami, in pale blue with silvery grey lace trim.. and a pretty antique vintage needlework lace table cloth or tea cloth , hand dyed to the prettiest ice blue grey colour .....
this cute cami dress is really adorable... the colours are very pretty... and the dress is light and airy.. wear a vintage slip underneath or bloomers.. just perfect..
in the center of the bodice Ive added one of my large raggy roses, strings of fine pearls, and a vintage doily in ecru with more scraps of doilies and sweet pearl buttons around the neckline..... on the back, another gorgeous vintage ecru doily ...
where the cami bodice joins the skirt part, there is a channel of cotton lace, hand dyed, threaded with a darker blue grey lace ribbon tie... this can be drawn in for a nipped in look or left looser for a more drapey style..
the long skirt part has a hanky hem shape, and Ive added pretty rose appliques, scraps of rose mesh, doily scraps, satin covered buttons, and ive woven parts of the cutwork cloth with blue grey lace.... loads of very pretty detail on this already delicate and pretty vintage cloth.... ! the hemline is very full but light at the same time... just a very romantic pretty dress and lovely to wear... (this cloth is very very old and there are some tiny repairs.. hardly noticable, but Ive mentioned them so you know.. just adds to the charm.. and you know for sure you are getting a true piece of history with this gorgeous upcycled cloth... )
please check the measurements to make sure it will fit you.. sizes 'labels' vary so much, I find measurements the best to go by... as you can see in the photos.. this dress is far too large for my mannequin which is a size Large.. so Im estimating this dress would fit a size LARGE/XL nicely..
across the bust ,(underarm to underarm) unstretched (still not being able to take into consideration the fullness of the cups) one side is about 20 inches (51cm), this is lying flat unstretched.. so its not so accurate.. there is more fabric you can measure in the bust, and the fabric is very stretchy so is quite flexible in fit.. up to C+ cup..
at the base of the bodice where the tie is , lying flat at widest measurement is 19 inches (19 cm)
top of bust (where straps join bust) to hemline (excluding straps as they are adjustable) about 29 inches (73.5 cm) at shortest and 42 inches (106.5 cm) at longest

*washing instructions.., hand wash in cold and lay flat or on a hanger to dry..
*this dress has vintage and hand dyed components.. please wear gently.. imperfections, tiny marks or repairs, if any are part of the charm of wearing beautiful re-created garments.. please know that I would not offer anything that I wouldnt wear myself..
