These earrings look like they were excavated from a treasure chest buried in the watery depths of Davy Jones' Locker. The matte patina on these polymer clay seahorses is reminiscent of verdigris, and they have been hand-sanded to reveal an under-layer of shimmering gold clay. Best of all, these earrings are created from my own custom mold (made using a plastic toy seahorse), so no you can rest assured that no sea creatures were harmed in the making of this item.
SIZE: Approx. 3.75 in. long (including copper ear wires). (Illustrated model in last photo is life-sized; last image shows earrings to scale).
MATERIALS: I created a custom cruelty-free mold, molded two mirror-image seahorses using gold clay, applied layers of gold pigment powders and aqua acrylic paint, baked, hand-sanded, and sealed with acrylic glaze. Each seahorse is attached to a copper ear wire using a neat copper wire wrap, and featuring a round glass bead (golden/amber with green/black flecks).
CARING FOR YOUR JEWELRY: To enjoy your polymer clay art jewelry for years to come, please remove before swimming, bathing, playing sports, spinning hula hoops around your neck, or any other vigorous activity. Polymer clay is sturdy; however, sudden impact or submersion in water can damage this handmade item.
